Bring clarity to the everyday detail.
A London law firm is looking for a Legal Cashier who enjoys accurate transaction work, organised reconciliations and helpful conversations with colleagues. You would join an established finance team with clear processes, shared knowledge and room to build your legal finance expertise.
This is a permanent, full-time role with an illustrative salary of £38,000–£45,000 a year. The example working pattern is three days in the London office and two days from home, following an initial office-based induction. Working hours are 35 hours a week, Monday to Friday.
What you would do
- Process client and office account receipts, payments and transfers, checking the supporting instructions and approvals.
- Prepare bank reconciliations, investigate differences and escalate exceptions promptly.
- Support residual-balance reviews and maintain clear records of the action taken.
- Help fee earners resolve transaction queries and understand the information finance needs.
- Assist with month-end checks, audit evidence and practical improvements to routine processes.
What you would bring
- Hands-on legal cashiering experience and a practical understanding of client-money controls and the SRA Accounts Rules.
- A careful, organised approach to reconciliations and payment processing.
- Confidence using a legal practice-management system and Excel; training would be provided on the firm’s specific setup.
- Clear communication, sound judgement when escalating exceptions and respect for confidential information.
An ILFM qualification or relevant study would be welcome, but equivalent practical experience would also be considered.
What the example package includes
The illustrative package includes 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, a workplace pension, hybrid working and support for relevant professional development. Your consultant would confirm the final terms of a real opportunity before an introduction.
