Privacy policy

Last updated: 26 September 2026. This notice explains how Trifle Partners uses information provided through our legal finance recruitment platform and the separate Academy and Salary Insights launch-interest forms.

Information we use

When you join, we collect your name, email address, account type and a securely hashed password. Candidates can add career history, qualifications, skills, location, contact details, working preferences and a CV. Employers can add their organisation, contact information and hiring requirements. We also hold messages, opportunity-interest records, consultant recruitment notes, manual identity-check status, account notices and your privacy choices.

We receive information directly from you and through conversations with our consultants. If someone introduces you or provides information about you, we will explain the source and relevant use. Please provide accurate professional information and only upload material you have permission to share. Do not upload identity documents, health information or criminal-record information as a CV.

Why we use it

• Your account and requested recruitment services: to create and secure your account, maintain your profile, handle opportunity interest and arrange the service you request. We rely on taking steps at your request before a contract and performing our service agreement where applicable.
• Recruitment relationships and platform security: to match professional experience with hiring requirements, manage consultant conversations, prevent misuse and maintain reliable records. Our legitimate interests are providing a relevant recruitment service and protecting the platform and its users.
• Identity and compliance: to arrange and record checks relevant to recruitment, relying on our legitimate interest in preventing fraud and, where a specific obligation applies, meeting that legal obligation. Your consultant will explain the information and checks required. Identity review is currently manual; the platform does not automatically send your data to Yoti.
• Academy and Salary Insights launch updates: we collect your name, email address and a record of your choice when you actively opt in to either list. Each list has its own consent. These choices are separate from recruitment services, account emails and welcome messages.

Required registration fields let us create and secure your account. Without them we cannot open an account. Completing other profile fields is your choice, although missing information may limit the introductions we can arrange. We do not make recruitment decisions with legal or similarly significant effects solely through automated processing. AI CV parsing is not enabled.

Who can access your information?

Your recruitment profile, uploaded CV and account conversations are available to you and authorised Trifle administrators. Employers cannot browse candidate profiles or download candidate CVs. Consultants manage introductions and discuss relevant sharing with you. A recruiting employer receiving your information may have its own privacy notice.

Hosting, email and technical support providers may process information to operate the service. We may also disclose information where necessary to meet a legal requirement or handle a dispute. Profile and cover photographs are website media: avoid uploading confidential documents as images.

Providers and international transfers

Contact Trifle for details of the hosting, email and support providers involved in your recruitment service, where they process information and any applicable international-transfer safeguards.

How long we keep information

We consider whether your account and recruitment relationship are active, whether a placement or enquiry remains open, any applicable legal or dispute requirements, and whether the information is still needed for its original purpose. We review information against those criteria rather than keeping it indefinitely for possible future use. Ask us about the retention applicable to your records.

You can replace or remove your uploaded CV and delete your account through account settings. Removing an uploaded CV deletes its stored file. Account deletion removes the account and its current uploaded CV; ask us separately about consultant records or information already shared during an introduction. Technical logs and backups have their own operational retention. Withdrawing from either launch-interest list stops future updates for that list; a record of the withdrawal may remain so your choice can be respected.

Your choices and rights

You can request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability where the relevant right applies. You can update your profile and contact details in your account and use the account data-export tools. Contact us about other records or to raise a privacy complaint; we may need to confirm your identity.

You have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests and an absolute right to object to direct marketing. You can withdraw marketing consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal or your recruitment account.

Manage Academy launch updates

Use the unsubscribe link in an Academy update or sign in to stop updates associated with your account. You can also contact Trifle using the details above.

You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. You do not have to contact us first, although we welcome the opportunity to resolve your concern.

Cookies and changes to this notice

Read our cookie policy for browser storage and sign-in cookies. We update this notice when the service or our use of information changes, and will highlight material changes where appropriate.
